FILM: UNTOLD STORIES
3D OBJECT
FILM
The story of a place lives on in its people. But whose memory is most accurate? Even an untold narrative has nuance, conflict, inconsistency.
In this short film, we follow two of the record keepers for historical Chinatown. Eugene Moi, President of the Chinese American Historical Society, recalls a Chinatown that has healed from past divisions and has a vibrant, unified present. Wei Guang Huang, of the Fujianese Family Association, remembers a different Chinatown–one that reflects the same discord that he saw throughout his journey to Los Angeles.
Any story will vary depending on who tells it. At some point, truth must take a back seat to feeling, and to remembering.
